The company was founded in 1978 by Bob Haro. Haro started out producing numberplates for BMX bikes in his Home. Demand for these stylish plates quickly outgrew his one man capacity. Haro Designs, the first name of the company, was formed in 1980 with headquarters in Torrance, California.

While the company was growing, Haro was also growing the sport of freestyle BMX. Bob travelled around the country performing demos of radical trick riding that had not been seen anywhere before. As a result, Haro earned the title "The Father of Freestyle". During the early eighties, the company grew rapidly by expanding its product line and establishing national and international distribution. The BMX boom was in full swing and the company built a reputation for developing innovative, top-of-the-line BMX and freestyle bikes and accessories.

Its story starts in 1987, when Devinci began life as Da Vinci (as in Leonardo), a company envisioned by two local engineering students. Soon after, road biking entrepreneur, Felix Gauthier, entered the mix. By 1990 he had purchased half the company, swapped vowels, and Devinci proper was born.

Having “Made in Canada” stamped on a frame is driving factor at Devinci. Felix Gauthier has amassed 25 years of passion and belief in the brand and the people who work alongside it, catapulting Devinci to the main-stage of the bicycling world. With a tight–knit, talented team behind it, look for more explosive results in the years to come.

We stem from a stem.

It all started in 1979 with a BMX rider and his father. Bill Danishek, a youth from Dayton Ohio kept breaking his stems, so his dad Charlie who at the time was a toolmaker, went to work machining him a better stem that could handle the abuse of BMX riding. Soon other riders would see it and want their own. Riders demanded it, and shortly after DK "Dad and Kids" was born.

Since those early days DK has always had a great love and passion for all things BMX. From designing innovative and excellent quality products to supporting the team DK family of riders.

Today, we still make better and stronger stems but we've also grown to offer an awesome line of complete bicycles, frames, parts, and accessories. We strive for innovation, quality, and attention to detail.

Be a part of our legacy, ride bikes, ride DK.
